U.S. Woman's National Team visits El Paso

April 9, 2008 – It was an honor last week when the Patriot office received a call from Erica Walsh, Assistant Coach for the U.S. Women’s National Team asking for the opportunity to train at Patriot Stadium. The WNT have been conducting their training in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico while participating in the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying, but were looking for a field that would meet their needs to conduct a full training session. The WNT trained at Patriot Stadium on Tuesday from 11:00am until 1:00pm and of course, the Patriots were honored and proud to accommodate the team. “Promoting soccer at the highest level is what we do”, remarked owner Enrique Cervantes. “If we have the opportunity to help anyone in soccer, we will”. At the end of the day the team had a great training session and the El Paso Patriots look forward to continuing their relationship with the top women’s team in U.S soccer.
