Duke Keith
Director of Media Relations
A staple of El Paso sports media since 1992, Duke Keith begins his second decade with the El Paso Patriots. Handling the Patriots’ stadium PA since 1997, Keith has expanded his role to include media relations and play-by-play. Keith brings over 20 years of sports media and media relations experience to the Patriots organization. A long-time soccer fan, Keith began his professional association with the sport while with the Albuquerque Journal in the 1980’s, covering the local high school and club scene as well as the New Mexico Chiles’ only season with the old American Professional Soccer League – the precursor to the USL’s First Division – in 1990. Keith initiated the Patriots’ webcasting efforts in 2005, drawing praise from the USL front office. The 2007 season saw every Patriots home match broadcast on the web for the first time, including streaming video – another first – and saw the team put its first game on local television. El Paso’s 2-0 win over Mississippi Brilla FC last May 18th was rebroadcast on Time Warner Cable’s MetroSports Southwest. Keith is the sports director for KLAQ-FM and also does morning sports reports on KROD-AM 600. In addition, he co-hosts MetroSports SW’s “News & Views”, a weekly sports interview and opinion show. He is married to the former Mona Ruiz and has four children: Sarai, Ysaac, Casey and Amanda.
